Local chapter of philanthropic educational organization launches ‘Star Card’ fundraiser

Fundraising for a scholarship benefiting women in North San Luis Obispo County who attend college, trade schools or return to school

– The Paso Robles Chapter of PEO International – Philanthropic Educational Organization – Launches New Star Card Fundraiser to raise funds for its Kiper-Twist scholarship fund, primarily benefiting women in North San Luis Obispo County who attend college , business schools or going back to school to improve, acquire skills and university degrees to better support their families. Since 2002, the PEO Chapter HL of Paso Robles has assisted 54 women with prizes totaling $ 127,385 in financial support.

The Chapter sells numbered Star Cards for $ 50 which will entitle the buyer to a 20% discount on certain products and services at over 40 participating local businesses for the 10-day period from Friday October 15 to Sunday October 24. 2021. To purchase a card, visit www.PEOpaso.org. The cardholder’s name must be printed on the Star Card booklet and photo ID must be presented at the time of purchase. Star Cards are non-refundable, non-transferable and non-replaceable. Participating merchants and businesses include wineries, beer gardens, restaurants and specialty foods, health and fitness products, clothing and jewelry, florists and nurseries, spas and trade shows, gifts and art, and auto services.

“Our local PEO chapter is focused on helping women in northern San Luis Obispo County,†said Barb Sefton, president of Star Card. “Our Kiper-Twist scholarship fund offers needs-based scholarships to residents and high school graduates with a minimum of 2.8 GPA or GED equivalent, who can attend the school of their choice. The Paso Robles chapter also helps applicants apply to PEO’s seven California states and PEO International’s six scholarships, grants, and loans programs.
