Salehe Bembury and New Balance have another sneaker collaboration in the works.

The designer, who was named FN’s Designer of the Year 2020, shared images on Instagram of him holding a shoebox from his upcoming collaboration with New Balance. The surface of the lid is imprinted with the text “Yourt,” which is believed to be the name of his next sneaker project with the Boston-based sportswear brand. The final image of the set shows the box positioned with those of his old New Balance 2002R styles “Peace Be the Journey” and “Water Be the Guide”, each bearing nature-inspired artwork. The designer didn’t share any information about the upcoming project but captioned the post “The Yurt” with a hut emoji.

At the time of going to press, neither Bembury nor New Balance have announced details of the launch of the Yurt collaborative shoe or whether it is expected to be made public.

In addition to Bembury’s sneaker collaborations, the designer has also teamed up with Lexus and Champion to deliver a new clothing collection, which launched last month. The designer reinvented some of Champion’s popular Reverse Weave clothing that included a co-branded hoodie, t-shirt and hat.

“This collaboration was a new kind of challenge for me. It’s both empowering and rewarding to explore design outside of shoes and it allowed me to think outside of my usual field of design, ”Bembury said in a statement about the capsule.
